Econometrics evaluation takes the form of a report replicating a research paper, strongly based on empirical data and econometric analysis. In addition to a written report, students must defend their work in front of a jury.
The report presents the individual work of the student across the semester, under the supervision of the professor: the professor provides a data set and guides the student trough the replication. Here is an example.
Report: Main matter of the report has length 10 to 15 sheets. Econometrics methods and data sets used are precisely referred and their pertinence discussed: who is their provider? with what purpose? Code used in the investigation must be provided as an appendix. The report presents the usual characteristics of a research paper: Title, abstract, introduction, parts, conclusion and bibliography.
Defense: 15 minutes. During the first half of the defense, the student presents the strongest part of her/his work. Do not prepare more than 3 or 4 slides, and don’t try to present all your work. Then, the jury asks questions, on the economics as well as econometrics aspects of the report..
- The report must be return by January, the 20th
- The defense will take place on January, the 30th
